The authorities scrutinize the need and reason of a patient to travel out of his country for medical treatment/ health enhancements. We will issue a Medical Visa Letter for you which will enhance and fasten your medical visa process from the respective embassy. This visa facilitation letter plays a crucial role in getting timely visa approval.
We will also assist you in getting visa for attendant/family members of the patient. Once the process of visa is completed, we will take the rest of the responsibility in making the appropriate arrangements for all your needs.
- Yellow Fever Certificate is compulsory for the visit to India
- Bank statement for last three months. The Account's statement should be certified by the bank and must indicate the name of the applicant, full address and telephone/fax numbers.
- A separate letter giving full details of previous visits to India, including periods of stay
- Your CV/bio-data
- A separate letter which gives your present occupation and detailed purpose of your intended visit to India.
- In case of someone else bank-statement, please enclose the affidavit of the person sponsoring the expenses along with the copy of the photo identity card bearing the signature of the sponsor.

- Complete copies of treatment record from the local hospital
- Letter from the Indian hospital which must also be mailed by the hospital authorities to High Commission at High Commission's mail box (see above)
- Proof of relationship of accompanying the patient and a letter indicating relationship
- Certificate from panel doctor/hospital after examination of the patient's condition, requirements and availability of the treatment in India.
WHO CAN APPLY?
Applicants wishing to visit India for medical treatment should apply for Medical Visa (MV). Medical Visa is issued on the basis preliminary medical advice from the country of origin/residence and have been advised to go for specialized treatment. Person accompanying the patient would be issued Medical Attendant Visa (MX). Medical Visa would generally be issued up to 1 year or the period of treatment which ever is less. All applicants visiting India on medical visa are required to get registered with in 14 days of arrival with concerned Foreigners Regional Registration Officer (FRRO).
The checklist for the application category that you apply for will provide details on which specific forms you may need to download. In some instances, there may be more than one form. Complete a separate checklist and application form/s for each person applying. Ensure the documents are completed accurately and signed where needed.

Taken against a light colored ( WHITE / OFFWHITE Preferred ) background so that features are distinguishable and in contrast against the background. Printed on photographic paper.
Frame Subject with Full Face, Front view, Eyes open.
Should show full face (without sunglasses and normally without a hat or cap). Head coverings are not permitted except for Religious reasons, but the facial features from bottom of chin to top of forehead and both edges of the face must be clearly shown.
The face should be in the middle of the frame.
Provide recent photographs (not more than 6 months old)
Ensure no distracting shadows on the face or background. Un-mounted - 2 inch x 2 inch in size. - VISA applications only. (One copy for each application in most visa cases. Exceptions apply-please see details for same under your selected visa type)
There is one self-service Photo-booth available at each of our centres in Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney. The photo-booth is a self operating standard Adult photo facility and cannot be adjusted to assist with Infant, Children or Special Needs applicants' photographs

Applicants sending their documents by Post/Courier are requested to ensure that they are completed and meet requirements. Processing times mentioned do not include transit time by post/courier. Transit times by Courier are generally 1-3 days on average and may be higher in remote or rural areas.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
- The Embassy of India, Bahrain has outsourced its visa services to M/s OCTIC International, Bahrain. For visa related guidelines please visit M/s OCTIC International website
- Only recent passport size color photograph showing full frontal view of the face without dark/coloured glasses will be accepted.
- Pakistani, Bangladeshi and Sri Lankan nationals are required to apply in Visa Application Form specifically meant for them.
- For cases requiring reference to country of origin/domicile, an additional fee of BD 6.000 towards communication charges will be levied. Reference is NOTrequired to be made in the case of Bahraini nationals (except those of Pakistani origin) and foreigners having valid Residential Permit of Bahrain.
- Cases requiring reference will be granted Visa only after receipt of approval from concerned authorities.
- The Embassy has the sole discretion to determine duration of the Visa and the number of Entries in each case. Visa can be refused to any person without assigning any reason.
- The date of delivery (for cases other than those requiring reference and for Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lankan nationals) will be indicated at the time of acceptance of form.

Students desirous of studying in India are required to submit proof of having deposited tuition fee for one year to the concerned University / College at the time of applying for student visa.
At the time of applying for visa, the student has also to submit proof of carrying at least US $ 2000 with him/her, if the duration of visa is for one year or more and US $ 1000/- if the duration is less than one year.

Original passport valid for at least 6 months. The passport must have the holder's signature. If the passport is newly issued (within 6 months from the date of visa application), the previous passport also should be shown for verification. In case of dual nationality both the passports should be presented.
- Two passport size photographs (5 photographs in case of Pakistani nationals).
- Copies of supporting documents, passport and yellow fever vaccination certificate. All visa applicants going to India would have to undergo yellow fever vaccination 10 days prior to the application/departure.
- In case of visas for minors on separate passports, a consent/sponsor letter from the parents should be submitted.
- Duly completed application form. The visa application should be signed only by the applicant and it should tally with the signature in the passport. (Pakistani and Bangladeshi nationals need to apply on special application forms).

HOW TO OBTAIN INDIAN VISA
The High Commission of India switched-over to Online Visa Application Filing for all applicants and all visa types w.e.f. 12th June 2012. Manually filled-in visa applications are no longer accepted.
Before coming to the High Commission of India, Accra, to submit the passport and visa applications, all visa applicants must complete the Online Visa Application Registration Form available on Website: http://indianvisaonline.gov.in/visa/
Please ensure that all columns are filled in completely and correctly. The visa application will not be registered by the system unless the application form is completed properly.
While downloading the Visa Application Registration Form from Website, a Temporary Application ID will be created by the system. This must noted down by the applicants for future references. The application form has four pages. Please continue to the next page(s) by clicking on 'Save and Continue' until the last page of the form. After completing the form correctly, please click on 'Verified and Continue'. Upon clicking this, the form will be registered in the system and a dialogue box with the applicant's name and file number will appear. Click on 'PRINT FORM' on this dialogue box. Take a print out of the two page application form. Paste (not staple) one photograph (size 2 x 2 cm.) of the applicant on the space provided and clip with the application two more photo copies of the same photograph.
The printed form should be submitted physically in the High Commission on the next day or subsequent days along with:

- Fees

Visa applicants resident in Burkina Faso, Sierra Leone and Togo should submit the printed application form along with passport, fees and other documents to the Honorary Consulate of India in these countries for onward transmission to the High Commission of India in Accra.
The fees, in full, must be paid by applicants at the time of submission of the application form and passport at the High Commission. Visa fees, once paid, will not be refunded.
The visa application will further be processed by the High Commission officials and visa will be granted/refused subject to necessary clearances from the Indian authorities concerned. In certain cases, the High Commission will require the applicants to personally come to the High Commission to submit the application / clarify the data filled-in on the online application registration form.
While, in the normal course, visas will be issued within 48 hours of the submission of the application form and fees at the High Commission in respect of nationals of Ghana, Burkina Faso, Sierra Leone and Togo, in the case of foreigners residing in these countries applying to the High Commission in Ghana will be issued visas only after clearance from the Indian Mission in the country of nationality of the applicant and subject to clearance from other Indian authorities concerned.

General guidelines for visa application are applicable in medical case also.
However, additionally medical visa application form should be accompanied with a referral letter or preliminary medical advice from the Kuwait hospital, recommending specialized medical treatment abroad and a letter from the medical hospital in India, indicating appointment or showing willingness to undertake treatment.
The visa is granted for a maximum period of one year or for the period of treatment whichever is less for seeking medical attendance only in reputed/recognized specialized hospitals/treatment centers in India with complete address and phone numbers.
Attendant/family members of the patient coming to India for medical treatment shall be granted Medical Attendant visa co-terminus with the 'Medical Visa' of the patient. Such visa may be granted to the spouse/children or to those who have blood relations with the patient.
It is mandatory for the foreigners coming on Medical visa to get themselves registered well within the period of 14 days from the date of arrival with the concerned FRROs/FROs.
Such visa will be valid for maximum three entries during one year.

The Medical visa is issued for the confide purpose of specialized medical treatment or treatment under the Indian system of Medicines. The validity of Medical/Medical escort visa may be up to a period of six month or one year or the period of treatment whichever less. Validity can be extended for a further by the State Government/ FRROs on the production of medical certificate/ advice from the reputed/ recognized/ specialized hospitals in the country.
Requirement for Medical Visa:
- Copy of preliminary medical advice stating that applicant needs specialized treatment and has been referred to hospital in India. Or Copy of letter of appointment with doctor in some recognized medical institution in India.
- Documentary proof of his financial standing.
- Attendant/family members escorting patient to India for medical treatment are granted medical attendant visa co-terminus with medical visa of the patient. Maximum two persons can accompany the patient as attendant/escort. Patient is issued Medical Visa while accompanying persons are issued Medical Escort Visa. Fee for both are same.
- Persons going on 'Medical visa' or 'Medical Escort Visa' will be required to get themselves registered mandatorily well within the period of 14 days of arrival in India with the concerned FRROs / FROs.
Medical visa is admissible to all foreign nationals seeking Medicare in recognized specialty hospitals or treatment centers in India. Although non exhaustive, following illustrative list of serious ailments would be of primary consideration; neuro-surgery; ophthalmic disorders; heart related problems; renal disorders; organ transplantations; plastic surgery; joint replacement etc.
General guidelines for visa application are applicable in this case also.

The visa is granted for a maximum period of one year or for the period of treatment whichever is less for seeking medical attendance only in reputed/recognized specialized hospitals/treatment centers in India.
It is mandatory for the foreigners coming on Medical visa to get themselves registered well within the period of 14 days from the date of arrival with the concerned FRROs/FROs, in case the applicant is required to stay in India for more than 6 months for the treatment.
Such visa will be valid for maximum three entries during one year.

In a case of a fraud or misbehaviour, the passport will be suitably endorsed/stamped.
All persons holding a long term visa (validity exceeding 180 days) are required, within 14 days of arrival in India, to get themselves registered with the nearest Foreigners Registration Office. However, for a long term Business Visa holder, registration is required only well before the 180-day period provided the planned stay in one visit is to extend beyond 180 days, or else registration is not required at all.
Any person seeking a visa to India for the purpose of entering into a surrogacy arrangement must ascertain beforehand whether the law of the applicant's country permits surrogacy and will provide appropriate travel documents to the child for accompanying the surrogate parents. Entering into surrogacy arrangements under any other visa not sought for surrogacy is punishable under Indian law.
