    Laparoscopic Gastric Banding involves placing a band around the upper part of the stomach to reduce the food intake of the patient. Post the surgery the doctor can also adjust the band to aid gradual weight loss in the patient.This surgery is advised to patients whose Body Mass Index (BMI) is above 35. All patients who suffer from obesity and are unable to lose weight through any other means may have to undergo a Laparoscopic Gastric Banding.
